Chinese SHANGHAI NIGHT

Shang Hai Night
(Visited in May 2009)

Walking around the Royal Olympic Hotel, I found a small Chinese restaurant filled with Chinese. I got curious and returned on another day with Husband. The place is called ShangHai Night.

We went there at 9 on a Saturday evening. Except for a group of three who were leaving when we entered, there was absolutely no customer besides us while we were there.

Shang Hai Night
We ordered a portion of spring rolls (2 rolls), sweet and sour pork, chicken and vegetable stir-fry, two portions of white rice, a bottle of beer and a bottle of water. All the items on the menu were British or American takeaway favourites and there was nothing inspiring. I requested the Chinese menu, but there was no difference.

Shang Hai Night
In taste wise, it was neither good nor bad, but I am sure that I can cook better myself using better ingredients. It means that there is no use for me to come back, although, if you can like takeaway Chinese in UK or in America, it might just be fine.

The total bill came to 30.50euros. As dining-out cost in Athens, it is not expensive, but I get so much better value spending the same sum on Greek restaurants.
