The porch is projecting to the south of the Erechteion. There are steps at the eastern side to entre (not accessible to visitors). Within the porch there is a stairway that connect to the western cella, although we cannot see in the photo.
The six female figures, the Caryatids, are the cast copies of the original ones now in the Acropolis Museum. The statues echo the similar figures depicted in the Parthenon frieze.
