Exhibited in the second room. Moschophoros means man carrying a calf. Dated to ca. 570-560 BCE (Archaic period). It is 1.65m high, and made of Hymmetian marble. The man has long hair and beard, and wears thin long garment. The calf on his shoulder is probably meant for sacrifice. His archaic smail, and his posture looking in front with the left foot ahead are the common characteristics as the contemporary kouroi.
On the base it is inscribed "Dadicated by Rhombos, son of Paros"; it is probable that the statue was modelled on him.
