In the south-east sector of the Athenian Agora site some grave markers are collected. These are some of them.

The one in the photo above is in the form of large water jar with two carved male figures on the body. The depiction of two persons, one seating the other standing, shaking hands is very typical in Greek grave markers.

In the photo below are very simple grave markers.

Arcanthus Top

This seems to be the head of a funerary inscription. The relief figuratively represents arcanthus.

This is a Roman sarcophagus, around the second century AD. There is a similar sarcophagus in Kerameikos site.
