Monastiraki Station Archaeological Site
Eridanos River
In the ISAP Monastiraki station, we can admire the archaeological ruins found during the construction work.

These are the Eridanos river and the various ruins around. In the Classical period of Athens (5th-4th century BC), both banks of the river were secured by walls of large blocks of stones (in the photos above and right).

Eridanos River Bed
Under the emperor Hadrian (117-138), the river was covered by bricks and then by earth and turned into a sewage (the photo left).
