Custard Pie in Syrup

Semolina custard part sandwiched by layers of fyllo pastry; baked and then soaked in sugary syrup. It is a Greek equivalent of Turkish Laz Böreg‾i.

We had this Galaktoboureko in Megalopoli, Peloponnese. It was titiled *traditional galaktoboureko of Megalopolis*, but we were not sure what is particular to Megalopoli. The filling was soft like custard pudding (i.e. little semolina flour). |
