Brizoles
(Steaks)

Despite its exotic name (sing.: brizola, pl.: brizoles), the best English word that renders it I think is 'steak'.
The favourite meat of the Greeks for this way of cooking is pork, but it can be beef, veal or lamb.
In the photo right are pork brizoles, but these are not very representative. These thin cut pork chops are speciality of a brizola restaurant called Telis in Athens.

This is more typical brizola hirino (grilled pork chop).
Served at a psitaria (meat grill restaurant) in Athens.

This is brizola of veal (or young beef). Greeks like to grill their meal to death, so the default is well-done, as was this one in the photo.
