Keftedes
(Fried or baked meat balls)

The word keftes (pl. keftedes) comes from the Turkish equivalent 'köfte'.
They are meat balls either deep fried or oven grilled. Grilled meat patties are called 'biftekia' in Greek.

Small keftedes (keftedakia) we ate in Lesvos island.

The same keftedaki: it contains dried herbs, probalby oregano.

These are keftedes we ate at a mezedopoleio in Piraeus. On the menu they were defined as 'keftedakia', but were quite as chunky as normal keftedes.

Section on the above keftes.
It included lots of herbs and mint (diosmos) flavour was particularly strong.
