Part of the trophy column the Athenians built after the victory against the Persians at the first Persian War. Originally it was 10 meter high and there was a statue of Victory on top. Now a replica column is standing in the place where this was originally placed. |

Statue of a reclining man. It is thought to be a personification of the rivar Charadros running Marathonas. However, it seems to be the cover of sarcophagus and, if so, the man might be an idealized statue of the buried. Second century AD. Found in Pithyon, Oinoe. |

Herodes Atticus, well known millionaire and enthusiastic builder in the second century, was a landowner of Marathon and possessed a villa in the area. These are the arched gate to his villa and statues of him and his wife Regilla. |
