Argostoli is the capital city of Kefalonia. The photo above is port side walk.
The town was almost completely destroyed by the earthquake of 1953, and later rebuilt.
The archaeological museum of Argostoli contains finds from various excavations in Kefalonia, from the prehistoric to Roman period.
The museum in the public library contains the items related to the history of the island (but I did not visited it).

The nearest beaches from Argostoli are Platis Yalos and Makri Yalos, both very equipped and have clean water.
