Kiato is currently the last stop of Athens' Proastikos (suburban) railways (the line is planned to be extended further).
It takes ten minutes or so from the station to beautiful beach.
The restaurants and cafeterias along the beach run bathing establishments and beach beds and parasols are free as long as you order drink/food from there and they are not expensive.
Of course, there are affordable fish restaurants as well.
