Where to eat in Kos town is a tricky question. There are so many restaurants, cafes, and bars. They might be ok, but they were so touristic that I did not bring myself to enter. It is quite selfish of me, as I was tourist, too. But what can I do?

So we asked our landlady where she would go to eat, and she indicated us this place, called "Koaon".
I did not remember its exact address, but it is easy to find. Go streigt down od. Artemisias from the town centre; it is just after Stadio, on your right side.

It had usual souvlaki dishes, but there were also others. We ordered 1 meat dish, 1 fried squids, 1 boiled green, 1 cheese fry. When Dim tried to order other stuff, the owner stopped him saying these were quite enough. He was right.
This is lamb cooked in lemon. The photo does not do really justice, but the meat was huge as well as the potatoes.

This is special saganaki.
Saganaki is cheese fry. What was special about it was that the owner pour ouzo in and put a flame on it. Buring saganaki.
It was made of Kasseri cheese. Very Nice.

This is horta (general term for boiled green leaf vegetable). It came in a big portion and was pleasant (Horta, humble boiled green leaves, is one of my favourite Greek dishes, whatever you think).
I don't have photo of fried squids, but they were nice too.
The bill was around €24: not the cheapest you can find, but if the budget is not the ultimate criteria of your choice, this place offers good value for money and pleasant ambiance.
