Nidrí, Levkada

<Location> Eastern coast of Levkada (Levkas)

Nidrí is situated on a bay on the eastern coast of the island, and is a favorite port of yachts that cruise in the Ionian sea. The ferry from Fiskardo, Kefalonia arrives at Nidrí after a stop at Vasilikí. From Nidri, there is bus communication with Levkada Town.

There are many European tourists visit this town, and there are some water-sports establishment. There isn't beautiful beach nearby. About 3 or 4 km toward the inland there is a beautiful water-wall where it is very cool even in the summer.

This is statue of the famous archaeologist W. Doerpfeld, on the seaside walk of Nidrí.
Doerpfeld maintained that the Ithaka of Odysseus is not the present Ithaki island but Lefkada.
