When we visited Mykonos at the beginning of September 2003, strong wind was raising and we felt cold walking outside wearing T-shirt. Many of the tourists, who did not expect such a low temperature and did not have warm clothes, were walking around covered with their beach-towels.
We visited Mykonos only to go to Delos, but the strong wind prevented the boats to depart, and we were had to stay a day more. As it happens sometimes, take it into consideration if you want to visit Delos from Mykonos.
The first photo was shot that day, and you see the wave was very high. In the next are the windmills.
Below left is the entrance of the hotel we stayed Delfines. Conveniently situated at the heart of the town, and also the price for Mykonian standard; € 30-40 for a double then. Recommended. When the owner, elderly man, found out that I was Japanese, he told me that he had been to Japan soon after the second world war as sailor, and that had happened to help a little Japanese girl teased by American soldiers.
Below right is the statue of Mantó Mavrogenous; heroine of the Greek Independence, who convinced the Mykonian citizens to join the cause, when the war broke out.
In Mykonos town there are many small churches (oratories); it is because the Mykonian families used to build family chapels.
These are the Pelicans, mascots of the town. They are usually near the harbour.

This is a donkey selling flowers and vegetables. Lovely. There were also people selling local products like cheese.
